Who wants to be the Next Malaysian Jail-Bird?

Raja Petra Kamaruddin (RPK) still refuses to meet visitors as reported by Malaysiakini :

Malaysia Today webmaster Raja Petra Kamaruddin - presently in jail for refusing to pay bail - has cut off all contact with the outside world including his own wife, Marina Lee Abdullah.

Some have coined RPK as the Malaysian Mahatma Gandhi; there are similarities in their stance towards injustice and this is an admirable title to give RPK but I think he rather be known as RPK - the Malaysian.

Who's next on the list of people most likely to be sent to jail?

No, these are not celebrities who want to do a Paris Hilton stint. This is the government going on a witch-hunt, flaunting the Sedition Act in our faces and they are doing this using tax-payers money. And folks, tax-payers money is going to this form of idiotic debate in parliament as reported by Malaysiakini:

Seorang ahli Parlimen Barisan Nasional (BN) hari ini mencadangkan agar kerajaan mengemukakan usul di Dewan Rakyat bagi membincangkan tindakan Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor) mempertikaikan titah Yang di-Pertuan Agong semasa perasmian persidangan parlimen minggu lalu.

Oil prices hit another high yesterday, USD122 per barrel; the world is heading towards a food crisis and this means higher cost of living across the world and in Malaysia we're worried about text for speeches. What the HELL is wrong with these people?

I'm worried about putting food on the table and seeing my kids getting a decent education and all these so called YBs are arguing over a comment on a speech? Is everything about winning points? Have these fellas in the August house taken time to listen to what the people are saying? Heck, the opening speech went over my head and what really bothers me is that these fellas have taken a cicak of an issue and turned it into Godzilla.

Get on with the business of running this country!

And while we're at it, where are the reforms to the judiciary? Where are the reforms to the police force? Where are the reforms to the ACA? Or has the Sleepy One forgotten what he said ? Or is he more worried about C4-Man in the background waiting to pounce on him. Wait, C4-Man just took on the RPK and C4-Man is too busy working on his next pet project - a prison themed version of National Service. You even get a cute uniform thrown in for free at the cost of the tax-payers and the criteria for entry is Speaking Too Loudly Against the Current Government.

Don't you just love this country?

We put people into prison for the fun of it and its all paid for with tax-payers money. RPK is sitting in prison for something he believes in and what saddens me is that I may have paid for that. My money went to the joke of a judiciary that put RPK in Sungai Buloh. My money is being used by this government to send bloggers, journalists, social activist, politicians and innocent citizens to prison under such acts as the Sedition Act and ISA.

My tax-money is being used to support people in government who blatantly lie to people (even ink is not spared), used it for personal overseas trips, pay for so-called-nation-building-projects that benefit an elite few (not to mention some submarines) and the abuse of the law to cover up miss-deeds by the ruling elite.

So is it seditious if I get your blood boiling when you read what I have to say on this blog? If that is so then I am next in line for our greatest reality show to date: Who wants to be the Next Malaysian Jail-Bird?

I couldn't agree with you more - our BN gov't lied & wasted our taxpayers money, and have the balls to tell us to cut down on spending. Spending on what....with everything going up in prices, maybe the Rakyat should start to eat grass (liked in North Korea), or boil leather belts, or seats (as in Africa). I'm truly disgusted with the BN gov't.

a) Spent RM 2.4 mil on indelible ink which was never utlised. Oh, i thought they mentioned that they arrested 3 or 4 men for bringing in. Now it's all hearsay that might caused instability in the country??

b) Lied about the Free Cosmonaut Program, which cost us RM 30 million after all. And wanting to spend additional >RM 100 million for the 2nd phase. By the way, what happened to the results of the space lab test. Or is that results under OSA?

c) The national service program is just a quick making money scheme for certain connected parties. Do you honestly believe that we buy the idea that after this indoctrination, our kids (only a selected few) will become more integrated & patriotic? Or they would become more patriotic once they get discriminated in the real working world??

d) The police are just lackeys to the the BN gov't dirty doings? Instead of arresting the rampant crime that is getting bolder by the day. KLIA shooting is an excellent example.

e) Luckily the UK Sports Program location was vetoed by the UK Municipal, otherwise, we the taxpayers have to foot the bills again...

f) There are too many foolish money being spent by BN to be mentioned here........

Anwar,

In the light of what they did to Raja Petra, I think all Malaysians want you to induce defections from Sabah, Sarawak and Semenanjung to bring down this hated gomen as soon as possible. Do it now!! don't waste any more time. Disregard all those talk about immorality as the hated UMNO does not accept democracy and a level playing field in the first place. Give the devil its due. Strike while the iron is hot.Kill the wounded UMNO tiger before it has the chance to recover from its wounds to eat all of us up

Even when out soon on 'public' bail
There's still much wrong to assail
We pray all evil schemes will fail
With truth and justice only to prevail
